Use Absinthe 2.0.4 to Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 on Ubuntu

    Jailbreaking iOS 5.1.1 on Ubuntu

    This procedure is tested on Ubuntu 12.04 and works perfectly. You just need to follow these steps:

    Step 1: Download Absinthe 2.0.4 for Linux from here

    Step 2: Make sure you have working backup for your iOS 5.1.1 device

    Step 3: In your device go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings (You can skip this step but doing so speeds up jailbreaking process)

    Step 4: Extract downloaded absinthe-linux-2.0.4.tar.bz2 file to desktop or any location you want

    Step 5: In absinthe-linux-2.0.4 folder look for “absinthe” (excluding quotes)

    Step 6: Double Click “absinthe” a dialogue will appear

    Step 7: Connect your iOS device to Ubuntu system and click “run” to open Absinthe window

    Step 8: Click jailbreak and wait till process completes
